I study honeypot ants to understand how climate and environment shape species distributions across the globe. Using species distribution models and niche analyses, I investigate whether repletes, the workers specialized in food storage unique to these ants, evolved convergently in response to shared environmental pressures. I also use gut microbiome sequencing to explore how ecology shapes the microbial communities living within these ants
